Amadora BD returns to the city of Amadora between October 23 and November 2, 2025 for its 36th edition, occupying Parque da Liberdade, Galeria Municipal Artur Bual and Bedeteca da Amadora.
The festival includes 14 exhibitions celebrating the careers of artists such as Paco Roca, Luís Louro and Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá, as well as the anniversaries of comic icons such as Zé Povinho (150 years), Spirit (85), Peanuts (75) and Justice League (65).
There are also highlights for contemporary authors such as Cy, Bea Lema and Zeina Abirached, as well as retrospective exhibitions by Alice Geirinhas and Diniz Conefrey.
The festival extends its signing times to Fridays and introduces the “Comics Hour” with discounts of up to 15% on book purchases.
It also offers competitions for new generations under the themes “Smile, you're a Superhero!” and “Humor in Comics”, culminating in the Amadora Comics Awards, with a prize of €5,000.
