The Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Agony 2025, Portugal's largest and most emblematic pilgrimage, returns to Viana do Castelo from August 12 to 20, promising nine days of intense celebration of faith, tradition and culture.
Among the most eagerly awaited moments are the Parade of Stewardship, on August 14 at 4pm, with hundreds of women dressed to the nines and adorned with traditional gold; the Historical-Ethnographic Parade, on August 16 at 4pm; and the Procession to the Sea, on August 20 at 2.30pm, which closes the festivities with a tribute to the fishermen.
The program also includes concerts, folklore festivals, street parades, flower carpets and firework displays that light up the city.
