MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival returns in September 2025 for its 19th edition, consolidating its position as the leading horror film event in Portugal and one of the most prestigious in Europe. With a diverse and innovative program, the festival promises an intense week of cinema, culture and chilling experiences.
Among the expected highlights are the competitive sections, such as the MOTELX Award - Best Portuguese Horror Short Film, with a prize of €5,000, and the Méliès d'argent Award - Best European Feature Film, which recognizes the best of European horror cinema.
In addition, the festival will feature special screenings, retrospectives, documentaries, and the “Bad Wolf” section, dedicated to younger audiences. Side events such as masterclasses, workshops, themed parties and open-air screenings will also be part of the program.
